Hey Fashion Enthusiasts,
This week’s suit is a blue pin stripe Ralph Lauren work of art. This is a two piece suit and you can buy it from the SuitUpp homepage.

Our good friend, John Elton from New Jersey sent us a message asking us how he could figure out what the pant size for a suit is.
|This is a very good question and we hate to use the phrase, but have no choice but to say, “it depends.” The good news, though, is that in most cases the pant size is the suit size minus 7. In other words, if you had a size 40 suit, the pants would have a 33 inch waist. When buying a suit online, this is a very important measure to keep in mind. Our most recent suit on SuitUpp (Ralph Lauren Pin Stripe 2 Piece Suit) falls under this category.|
Sometimes, the suits that we sell on SuitUpp have a pant waist size that is the suit size minus 6. In order to be sure, make sure to check out the full description of the suit!
One of our good team members, Meenaz, was boasting to the rest of the team that he had a proprietary way to tie a tie. He showed it to us and , admittedly, it looked pretty good. Then Jonathan searched on youtube quickly and was able to find out that Meenaz’s proprietary tieing technique had a remarkable resemblance to the double windsor tie 🙂 Here is the video for all of you who’d like to see how Meenaz likes to put on a tie!
[update: Meenaz still believes that this person by the name of “Windsor” copied his technique! Sure Meenaz, sure 😉 ]

John Reid from North Carolina recently bought one of our Tallia Blazers. This blazer happens to look amazing with Jeans and so the question that arose for him was if it would make sense to cuff his Jeans while wearing this blazer (since his jeans were a bit too long).
John, the answer is, yes, you can do it. While most people don’t cuff their jeans, some do. It all depends on the look that you are trying to achieve. As long as you feel confident with the look and feel of the clothes, it is absolutely ok. Especially with the Tallia Blazer, we’re sure that you’ll be more than fine.
There are a few words of caution though. Don’t overdo the cuffing. If the jeans are really too long, then simple get them hemmed. Alternatively, you could try cuffing them in the reverse direction (i.e. towards the inside).
We’ve been talking to our suppliers recently and we are thinking of also occasionally putting up Tuxedos on SuitUpp.com. If we are to do this, we’ll need to make sure that everyone knows exactly how to tie a bow tie. Working with a Bow Tie is not that difficult at all. We were going to start recording a video on how to do this but we were able to find a video that already showed how this is done. Why reinvent the wheel, right?
Here is a video tutorial of how you can tie a bow tie:
